© Jürgen HammerschmidDuring the hectic pre-Christmas period, Michael Reimer, the "sweet gentleman of Viennese society," is a passionate chocolatier working at his manufactory near Schönbrunn Palace. Sweets for St. Nicholas and Krampus need to be made and packaged, the SchokoMichi factory needs to be decorated for Christmas, the Advent calendars need to be filled with pralines, and the online shop needs to go live – many tasks that are almost impossible to manage alone. Therefore, author and networker Clemens Trischler quickly mobilized some of his friends, who helped with the scooping, pouring, and decorating of the finest chocolate creations, experiencing firsthand just how much handwork and love goes into each and every piece.
“I’ve known SchokoMichi for years from events and I have to admit that I only recently visited his factory for the first time,” said Trischler. “Apart from the fact that I’ve been a chocoholic ever since, I’m fascinated by the historic salesroom and also the small museum with Michael Reimer’s private collection, which tells the sweet story of Vienna through original exhibits, stories, and picture panels. A wonderful sight – a real gem. Michael Reimer skillfully combines the new with tradition.”
Among the numerous helpers were celebrities such as star astrologer Gerda Rogers, musical performer Fabio Diso, talk show host Vera Russwurm, cabaret artists Caroline Athanasiadis, Gernot Haas, Andrea Händler and Alf Poier, opera singer Natalia Ushakova, presenters Eser Akbaba, Sylvia Graf and Thomas Kamenar, former tennis pro Stefan Koubek, musicians Andie Gabauer and Andy Lee Lang, actors Natalie Alison, Konstanze Breitebner, Julia Cencig, Brigitte Kren and Michael Steinocher, "Alle Achtung" frontman Christian Stani and Le Méridien Vienna director Hanspeter Soller.
