In a festive ceremony held in the magnificent Hall of Mirrors at the House of Sports in Vienna, star astrologer Gerda Rogers was awarded the Golden Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria on Wednesday. The award was presented by Eva Wildfellner, Secretary General of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport.

This prestigious state award recognizes the long-standing work of Gerda Rogers, who has shaped the Austrian radio landscape for 35 years with her cult program "Sternstunden" on Hitradio Ö3. Her horoscopes have accompanied generations of listeners, and her unmistakable voice has long since become an integral part of Sunday evenings for many.

In addition to her radio work, Rogers has published seven books and still runs astrological consulting practices in Baden and Linz. As a sought-after advertising spokesperson for numerous companies, she has become one of the country's most well-known personalities and achieved cult status far beyond the media. According to a Google analysis, she was also the most searched-for woman of the decade in Austria during the 2010s.

The laudatory speech was given by her long-time companion and manager, Clemens Trischler, who praised Gerda Rogers' extraordinary career. "She made astrology understandable and accessible to many people. Gerda is simply an icon who has always remained down-to-earth and amiable," said Trischler.

Gerda Rogers was visibly moved: “I am speechless. It is a truly happy moment in my life and an extraordinary honor for me - an award that will remain unforgettable for me.”

The Comedy Hirten – represented by Herbert Haider, Peter Moizi and Christian Schwab - provided a humorous surprise, giving prominent voices a platform with a specially staged “celebrity congratulations parade”.

Numerous prominent figures attended the ceremony, including Natalie Alison, Sabine Apfolterer, Gernot Blümel, Konstanze Breitebner, Julia Cencig, Dieter Chmelar, Goran David, Peter L. Eppinger, Martina Fasslabend, Sylvia Graf, Andrea Händler, Martina Kaiser, Heribert Kasper, Ernst Minar, Michael Pauser, Eva Pölzl, Maria Rauch-Kallat, Vera Russwurm, Iva Schell, Bernd Schlacher, Gaby Schwarz, Christian Stani, Michael Steinocher, Kathi Stumpf, Adi Weiss and Michael Lameraner.
